My name is Jessica Crouch. Myself and my husband (Landen), alongside my Mom and Dad (Kevin and Lisa Merrill) are the owners of Rhea Lana's of The High Desert. We are all native to Arkansas, but my husband and I moved to Victorville, CA the end of 2019 to pursue a new career opportunity. At the time, we were just a family of four, but on an already tight budget. I was accustomed to shopping, consigning, and working at Rhea Lana's events in Arkansas, so I quickly checked to see if there were any events close by. When I looked, the closest RL event was an hour and a half away. If you're familiar, as we have become, with the infamous "hill" (Cajon Pass/I15 Freeway), the logistics of traveling to and from a consignment event was mentally daunting. I thought to myself, "how nice would it be to have an event that serves families here?" After a couple years of tossing the idea back and forth, we finally decided the time had come to board the Rhea Lana's train.
My parents owned a successful business in Arkansas for 35 years, and just transitioned into a new season of full-time RV/semi-retirement life. Their partnership is crucial in so many ways. The way they love people and the heart they also share to serve families across the desert is evident. Although they aren't in California full-time, they visit often. Due to the seasonal, pop-up nature of our events, they will play both hands-on and behind-the-scenes roles that contribute to the success and service these events will provide! We greatly appreciate how passionate they are to come alongside us to serve families across the desert and surrounding areas.
Now a family of six with two additional kiddos since our SoCal arrival, I am even more passionate about the Rhea Lana's model. Our community has a great need for moms to sell their kid's clothes for a fair price - and to buy excellent quality kid's clothing at affordable prices - all in a safe, organized, upscale resale environment. Our standard consignors make 60% (up to 75% with referrals). My goal is to maintain very high standards in the quality of merchandise that we accept. Our event guarantees that we will keep track of each consignor's items, or the consignor will be reimbursed. Consignors' checks and detailed inventory reports are available on Pick Up Day, immediately after the sale. We love being able to provide this service to so many families.
As we serve the desert with this incredible pop-up children's consignment event, we really want that heart of service to be reflected in everything we do. From providing a marketplace for families to make a little extra money by consigning their gently used items, providing a unique shopping experience for members of our community, and even inviting in foster families to shop from any unsold items that our consignors have donated at completely no cost to them.
